We’re excited to share the latest enhancements to the Avarni platform, designed to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of your carbon accounting processes.

Smarter emission factor mapping

Matching business activity data to the right emission factors can be a significant challenge, with databases containing hundreds or thousands of factors that are often hard to navigate. While our AI-powered emissions hub manages most matching automatically, there are times when you need to change a mapping and this can be a challenge. There's no way you can memorise all emission factors, or know what keywords you need to look for to find the one that best match your business activity data. This can lead to mismatches or missed factors, impacting the accuracy of emissions calculations.

Previously, searching for "banana" in Avarni would return no results, even though a relevant factor for "fresh fruits" existed. To address this, we’ve enhanced our emission factor matching process. The system can now intelligently link related terms, ensuring the appropriate factor is identified.

This update is designed to help you focus on delivering precise results without the added burden of manual searches or uncertainty.

Improved date handling

We’ve rolled out three key improvements to how dates are managed on Avarni, making the platform more intuitive and time-saving.

1. Flexible date formats: You can now upload data with simpler date formats, like "2024," which will automatically assign to 1 Jan 2024 instead of generating an error.

2. Improved date range filters: Filters across the emissions hub, review view, and graphs now allow you to input date ranges directly, streamlining the process.

3. Better graph sorting: Graphs grouped by Month, Quarter, or Year now display in ascending or descending time order rather than by emissions, making it easier to spot trends like month-on-month spikes.

Platform improvements and bug fixes

We’ve also made numerous minor improvements and addressed bugs throughout the platform to optimize your user experience and ensure a seamless, reliable interface.
